Candidate Selection
BCI is using its proprietary in vitro and in vivo neurogenesis platform for profiling compounds and targets and comparing them to both successful and failed CNS compounds.
BCI believes that compounds with neurogenic profiles similar to successful drugs to treat CNS disorders, will have an increased probability of clinical success. Based on testing more than 500 compounds in its neurogenesis assays, BCI believes the profiles of marketed drugs to treat classes of CNS indications, such as depression, anxiety, psychoses, cognition, schizophrenia and brain repair, are distinct from one another. BCI is using this information to select and repurpose clinical stage compounds with established safety databases, and to discover novel targets and compounds to treat CNS disorders.
